Game Changer Awards
Do you know someone who has made a difference in the Barberton community or someone from Barberton who has made a significant impactful difference within their field? Someone who has played a key role in building a better Barberton through their leadership, vision, and commitment to making a positive impact? If you know someone that fits these exemplary qualities, please nominate an individual or organization for the Barberton Community Foundation’s Game Changer Award! The winners will be recognized at our Annual Dinner every fall.
Barberton CLI
The purpose of Barberton CLI is to strengthen leadership in Barberton. Developing new leaders and strengthening our current leaders, we can prepare our city for the future. The program is an in-depth learning experience and it presented in partnership with Leadership Akron. Since 1984, Leadership Akron has empowered leaders by offering opportunities for learning, connectivity and involvement with key leaders in Summit County. Barberton CLI uses Leadership Akron’s proven educational model to enhance the skill set of current and future leaders.
Youth Philanthropy
The Barberton Community Foundation (BCF) established the Youth Philanthropy Committee (YPC) in 2000, giving youth the opportunity and legitimate authority to directly improve the lives of Barberton residents.
Magic Mile
The Magic Mile is an initiative of the Barberton Community Foundation, which helped fund the building of a pedestrian bridge to give towpath users a way of reaching Robinson Avenue and downtown Barberton.
