Director of Marketing and Communications
BARBERTON, Ohio, November 20, 2017 – Barberton Community Foundation, an organization focused on improving the quality of life in Barberton, announced the hiring of Jane Litz as its Chief Financial Officer. In this position, Litz will assume overall responsibility for the Foundation’s finance, accounting and program related investment functions through serving as an advisor to the Board, its committees, all fund holders, and the staff.

Litz joins Barberton Community Foundation from Huntington Bank/FirstMerit, where she served as a Vice President of Finance as well as Executive Director of the FirstMerit Foundation. In her work with the FirstMerit Foundation, she developed policies and procedures, administered treasury management, fund accounting, and regulatory compliance, providing oversight of FirstMerit’s corporate charitable giving across a five state footprint.
Litz is a Certified Management Accountant and earned MBA and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management degrees from The University of Akron, where she was awarded Outstanding Management Graduate during her tenure. Litz currently serves as a board member at the Akron Zoo, and served as capital campaign chair for the Zoo’s Mike & Mary Stark Grizzly Ridge expansion.
