Statement From The Barberton Community Foundation
Strategic Plan and Staff Transitions
(September 7, 2018, Barberton, Ohio) – The Barberton Community Foundation Board of Directors is preparing for a transition in the role of President and CEO. The precise time frame for the transition is still being determined, but the Board is eager to have new leadership in place by its annual meeting in January 2019.
This transition comes on the heels of other recent staff transitions, including Debby Rolland who is moving out of state with her family, and Amber Genet who returned to the for-profit world with an area business.
Rolland and Genet have both remained engaged with the Foundation and are providing help during the transition period.
“We are thankful for the efforts and commitment from Mr. Stonkus, Mrs. Rolland, and Ms. Genet,” said Michael Chisnell, Board Chair. “With a new strategic plan focused on larger impact, and during this time of transition, we are excited to take a fresh look at how the Foundation staff is structured and review what roles will provide our community with the most return on granting dollars.”
To facilitate this transition in leadership, and to help with the implementation of the strategic plan adopted in August 2018, the Barberton Community Foundation has engaged Finding Leaders, an organization with an excellent reputation for identifying strong leaders.
