Barberton Community Foundation Selects Goldman Sachs as Investment Advisor

Comprehensive Evaluation Process Reflects Foundation’s Commitment to Growth, Excellence, and Prudent Stewardship

December 15, 2025, BARBERTON, OH – Barberton Community Foundation is pleased to announce the selection of Goldman Sachs as its investment advisor. This decision reflects months of careful evaluation and continued commitment to strong stewardship of the endowments that support Barberton residents.

“The process of reviewing proposals from nine highly qualified professional firms reflects the dedication of our board and the members of the subcommittee that dedicated so much time and energy to assessing where the Foundation’s growth is now, where it needs to be, and which firm is best equipped to help us reach our goals,” said Josh Gordon, Executive Director of Barberton Community Foundation. “They approached this work with care, discipline, and a deep sense of responsibility to our donors and the Barberton community.”

Stephanie Kenary, co-head of the Goldman Sachs Institutional Client Solutions group, shared, “We are thrilled to welcome the Barberton Community Foundation to Goldman Sachs. We look forward to leveraging the full depth and breadth of our firm to further the Foundation’s mission to the benefit of the Barberton community.”

Goldman Sachs distinguished itself through several key attributes: deep investment and industry expertise across all asset classes; sophisticated analytical capabilities and proximity to investment opportunities, particularly in private investments; a highly favorable client-to-advisor ratio ensuring dedicated attention; and a team reputation for exceptional responsiveness and client service, including in person attendance in Barberton at each Finance Committee meeting. Importantly, Goldman Sachs will deliver all of these services at a competitive total cost.

“What impressed us most was Goldman Sachs’ ability to balance the resources of a global firm with a boutique service approach,” said Tiffany Peters, Director of Finance. “They demonstrated not only sophisticated investment capabilities but also a nimble, proactive approach to portfolio management and a track record of superior service to their clients.”

The transition to Goldman Sachs will be managed carefully to ensure continuity in portfolio oversight and performance. The Foundation anticipates a seamless transition process beginning in January 2026.
