Barberton native and BHS graduate, Thomas L. Angerer (1960-2006), was fun-loving, outgoing, loved OSU football, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He always seemed to get along well with others and few people were strangers to him. Thomas graduated from The Ohio State University with a business degree in 1982.
This scholarship honors the educators and the academic preparation Tom received during his years at Barberton High School, and pays it forward to the next generation.

A.O. Austin Engineering Scholarship Fund
A.O. Austin was an electrical engineer, inventor, businessman, community leader, and philanthropist who intensely valued higher education. We believe he would have been very pleased to know that his name is associated with supporting young peoples’ desire to pursue a degree in engineering. This scholarship is awarded to a Barberton student pursuing a post-secondary degree in the engineering disciplines of electrical, mechanical, civil, industrial or chemical engineering.

Barberton Band Boosters’ Henda Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund
Mrs. Henda Jones, a dedicated Band Booster for 19 years, thrived and lived for the senior citizens of Barberton and the band members of Barberton High School. She was an exceptional servant and leader for both groups. She enjoyed her work as the Senior Center Director and Band Booster President for many years. Her dream for a bingo game as a fine support mechanism for the band was realized in 1992. She was present when the Band Boosters purchased their first concession trailer, and continued to be very active in the community in numerous ways. She was always thinking of ideas to support the band. The Band Boosters honor her memory with this scholarship.
