Barberton Community Foundation Hires Amber Genet as Director of Marketing & Communications

BARBERTON, Ohio, August 11, 2015 – Barberton Community Foundation, an organization focused on improving the quality of life in Barberton, announced the hiring of Amber Genet as its Director of Marketing & Communications. In this position, Genet will assume overall responsibility for the Foundation’s marketing strategy, including social media presence, brand management and communication functions.

Genet joins Barberton Community Foundation from Westfield Insurance, where she served as a corporate event planner coordinating event logistics, communication, design and execution. Combined with other positions held, including her first job with the Barberton Park and Recreation Department, she brings 10 years of communication and event experience to her new position with Barberton Community Foundation.

Genet earned her graduate degree in Communication and her undergraduate degree in Public Relations & Business Communication from The University of Akron.

She is a board member at United Disability Services of Akron, Past-President of Downtown Akron Partnership Emerging Leaders, and was a member of Torchbearers Class of 2010. Genet serves on multiple event committees and is a member of local organizations throughout Northeast Ohio.
