Barberton native and BHS graduate, Thomas L. Angerer (1960-2006), was fun-loving, outgoing, loved OSU football, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He always seemed to get along well with others and few people were strangers to him. He believed in giving back and this scholarship honors that spirit within him.

A.O. Austin was an electrical engineer, inventor, businessman, community leader, and philanthropist who intensely valued higher education. We believe he would have been very pleased to know that his name is associated with supporting young peoples’ desire to pursue a degree in engineering. This scholarship is awarded to a Barberton student pursuing a post-secondary degree in the engineering disciplines of electrical, mechanical, civil, industrial or chemical engineering.
